Mission Lanka 2022-23
In late 2022, we went on a mission to deliver essential school supplies to Sri Lanka. With a strong commitment to improving educational opportunities for children in need, Learn4Lanka successfully gathered a wide range of educational resources, including books, stationery, and learning materials. The organization collaborated with local communities and schools in Sri Lanka to identify specific needs and ensure that the supplies reached the right areas.
The mission was a resounding success! Learn4Lanka's dedicated team of volunteers worked to distribute the supplies and create a positive impact on the lives of Sri Lankan children.

"The Akkaravissa in the Galle District under the Southern Province. This school consists of children who are in grades 1–11. Unfortunately many of the older children drop out of school as they get older due to financial circumstances and the need to provide help for their families. The number of students is around 140 and most of these students walk several miles to get to their classes every day... because there isn't a transportation system for these kids. I mean-the facilities of the school are outdated. The “open-air” classrooms are made of two metal fences and two walls. The students sit on small desks and small chairs, and the floor is made of concrete. The teachers write on chalkboards, and there is no technology in these classrooms. None. Even some of the overhead lights do not work. The “play area” is a large patch of grass, and only has a volleyball net. A volleyball net. Many of the kids enjoy playing sports but lack much of the necessary equipment like shin guards for soccer... There are also stray dogs that wander around the school. You know it's possible to help. It really is, but it starts with a local community. That's where we, as humans, need to direct our attention. We can make change together and education is certainly the answer."
